The beautiful gardens at Bolton Castle were restored in 1994 adhering to medieval principles, with two walled gardens, a herb garden containing over fifty varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs and a vineyard stocked with a frost hardy, early ripening variety of red grape (although historically there were no vineyards this far north).

Cannon Hall Park and Gardens

An annual event in September celebrates the pear trees, first grown here in the early eighteenth century.
